Our team is comprised of dedicated Early Childhood Educators who bring a vast amount of formal education, years of experience, and an over all loving, caring demeanor. We work to stay current with our curriculum, training and new developments in our field. We believe in collaboration between educators and strive to do and be better every day.
Kechelle has been a part of the SPCDC school community since 2013. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education and was a classroom teacher for Hutch Kids Child Care Center for five years, where she also shared her Creative Movement program with their preschool classes. She has run her own business for the past nine years, teaching Creative Movement enrichment in over 10 schools across the greater Seattle Area including SPCDC. She has also been the Treasurer of Dance Educators Association of Washington, a non-profit organization, the last four years.
Program Coordinator & Pre-K Teacher
4 – 5 year olds
Originally from Hawaii, Patti received her BS in Natural Science from Puget Sound University. She worked as a Camp Naturalist at YMCA Camp Seymour where she taught environmental education classes to students K-6th grade. After time in New York to continue her career in the outdoor education field, she returned to the PNW to become a formal educator for Early Childhood Education. In her free time, Patti loves going on hikes, spending time in or on the water, ziplining, and hula dancing.
Young Pre-K Teacher
3 – 4 year olds
Alysha received her degree in Early Childhood and Family Studies from the University of Washington in June 2021. She started as a volunteer during the fall of 2019 and loved that Sand Point Child Development Center offered children a variety of opportunities to grow in their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. She has come back as the Lead Young Pre-K Teacher and has loved building relationships with all of the children and supporting their growth and learning.
18 months – 3 year olds
Quinn is currently working on her degree in Early Childhood Education at Lake Washington Institute of Technology with a projected graduation date of December 2022. She’s worked in the childcare field as a nanny since 2012 and has worked mainly with infants and toddlers since 2014. She’s passionate about education and has completed the Birth Doula Skills workshop at Bastyr University (2013), Newborn Care Specialist training through Newborn Care Solutions (2015), and the Seed and Sew Big Emotions Masterclass (2021). In her free time, she can be found curled up with her three cats and a good book, or binge watching Gilmore Girls with her husband.
