Our Teachers

Our team is comprised of dedicated Early Childhood Educators who bring a vast amount of formal education, years of experience, and an over all loving, caring demeanor. We work to stay current with our curriculum, training and new developments in our field. We believe in collaboration between educators and strive to do and be better every day.

Kechelle

Center Director

Kechelle has been a part of the SPCDC school community since 2013. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education and was a classroom teacher for Hutch Kids Child Care Center for five years, where she also shared her Creative Movement program with their preschool classes. She has run her own business for the past nine years, teaching Creative Movement enrichment in over 10 schools across the greater Seattle Area including SPCDC. She has also been the Treasurer of Dance Educators Association of Washington, a non-profit organization, the last four years.

Alysha

Program Coordinator

& Pre-K Teacher

4 – 5 year olds

Alysha received her degree in Early Childhood and Family Studies from the University of Washington in June 2021. She started as a volunteer during the fall of 2019 and loved that Sand Point Child Development Center offered children a variety of opportunities to grow in their social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth. She has loved building relationships with all of the children and supporting their growth and learning.

Kristina

Young Pre-K Teacher

3 – 4 year olds

Kristina started her early education journey in September 2022 as a full-time float at SPCDC. In no time, she fell in love with the values and curriculum that the school had been teaching the children. When the time was right, she was able to step in as a young preschool lead teacher and focused her skills and teaching abilities on her own class. After graduating with a Bachelors and a Masters degree, she spends every day learning even more alongside her students and teaching them important skills to carry with them to the next stage of life.

Silvia

Toddler Teacher

18 months – 3 year olds

Silvia is originally from Colombia but moved to Spain when she was 12 years old. In 2016, she moved to Washington and fell in love with the scenery of the state. She lives with her adorable Rottweiler and spends most of her time drawing and hiking with  friends. She received her Associates degree in Early Childhood Education from North Seattle College in 2022. Before working at SPCDC, Silvia  worked as a nanny and preschool teacher assistant for 9 years, mainly with two to five year olds.  She is extremely passionate about working with young children and looking forward to nurturing toddlers’ curiosity.
